Boeing Operations in Maryland

Approximately 1,250 employees work at multiple locations throughout the state supporting defense and commercial customers, with the largest concentrations in Germantown, Patuxent River, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Annapolis Junction and Andrews Air Force Base:   Germantown  –  – Germantown is theTechnology, largest Boeing in Maryland, where Boeing subsidiary Digital Receiver Inc.site (DRT) is headquartered. Approximately 420 employees support Boeing’s Network & Space System s business activities. DRT designs and manufactures DSP-based communications test and measurement equipment. Its wireless test solutions address the need for high-capacity or multi-standard analysis of cellular systems.   – Approximately 400 Boeing Engineering, Operations &   Patuxent River  – Technology (EO&T) employees work at Patuxent River Naval Air Station, providing support to four U.S. Navy programs including: the P-8A Poseidon, the V-22 Osprey, the F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet & the EA-18 Growler, and the T-45 Goshawk. The site began as a McDonnell Douglas operation in 1946.  – Boeing has two facilities located on Aberdeen   Aberdeen Proving Ground – Proving Ground comprising 32,000 square feet of space. In 2011, Boeing opened a field marketing office in close proximity to key Boeing customers, which is staffed by Boeing Defense, Space & Security field marketing personnel. The office serves as the resident "voice of the customer" and Boeing advocate while promoting business opportunities and developing key relationships. In March 2012 Boeing took occupancy of 26,500 square feet within a multi-tenanted building, which houses Boeing’s Network & Space Systems employees who support an engineering, manufacturing and development contract to deliver Enhanced Medium Altitude Reconnaissance and Surveillance System (EMARSS) aircraft.  – Boeing has two facilities in Annapolis Junction, with more   Annapolis Junction  – than 85,000 square feet of office space, working primarily on cyber security solutions. Boeing’s National Security Programs business unit  provides systems engineering, software development and cybersecurity network assessment services in support of the intelligence community and DOD customers. In October 2011 Boeing opened their new Cyber Engagement Center staffed with security experts from across the Boeing enterprise who will work in a 







 

collaborative environment alongside our customers to tackle the most challenging issues in cyberspace.  –Global Services & Support employees working at   Andrews Air Force Base  – Andrews Air Force Base support the VC-25 Contractor Operated and Maintained Base Supply (COMBS) facility, which supports the fleet of two VC-25 aircraft known as “Air Force One” when the President of the United States is on board. They also support the Boeing Fleet Support Center, providing logistics and technical support for the C-32, C-40B and C-40C aircraft at Andrews Air Force Base, Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii, Scott Air Force Base in Illinois and Ramstein Air Base in Germany, as well as worldwide support.

according to 2012 data:   Employees: Approximately 1,268   Boeing suppliers/vendors in Maryland: 377 o  Annual expenditures with Maryland suppliers/vendors: $818,429,199 o  Supporting an additional 26,000 direct and indirect jobs in the state 

Boeing employees are active and committed members of the Maryland communities in which they live and work, contributing both dollars and time in many ways according to 2012 data:   Charitable contributions: More than $1,285,080   Numerous volunteer hours 
