Today Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) entered into a comprehensive settlement agreement with
the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries (BOLI) that concludes the civil rights complaints filed last year
by six former employees of DTNA’s Portland Manufacturing Plant as well as the BOLI Labor
Commissioner’s complaint.
DTNA has fully cooperated with the BOLI investigation, including providing access to current and former
employees and supervisors and access to documentation pertaining to the Portland Manufacturing
Plant.
The agreement includes additional compliance measures to ensure a harassment and discriminationfree workplace for current and future employees. These additional measures include:

Installation of a civil rights complaint hotline for workers
Supervisor logbooks for any future incidents
Mandatory supervisor trainings conducted by BOLI or a BOLI-approved entity
Training for at least two designated managers to conduct internal investigations to address any
future incidents

In addition the company will also pay a $2.4 million monetary settlement to be split amongst the six
former employees of the Portland Manufacturing Plant and includes complainant attorney fees, and a
fund for future complaints.
“Daimler Trucks North America is committed to diversity and inclusion including strict attention to the
enforcement of human resource policies and guidelines that govern many aspects of our work lives, as
well as compliance with federal and local employment laws and regulations,” said Brian Burton, General
Counsel, Daimler Trucks North America. “We are pleased that we were able to resolve the matter with
the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries and the parties involved.”
Five additional complainants have withdrawn their BOLI complaint filings. These cases may be subject
to additional civil legal lawsuits. As per company policy, DTNA will not comment or speculate on
pending or active legal proceedings.
DTNA prohibits discrimination in the recruitment, selection, training, utilization, upgrading or
termination of any individual, or in any other personnel related activities, based on characteristics
protected by law such as race, color, gender, religion, national origin, age, marital status, family
relationship, disability, sexual orientation, or veteran status. In addition, retaliation against an individual
who in good faith complains of alleged discrimination or harassment or provides information in an
investigation about behavior that may violate this policy is strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated.
DTNA assumes that any employee allegation of discrimination or harassment is made in good faith and
will investigate and respond accordingly.
