i.DOCUMENT runs on the WEB User definable and flexible document storage hierarchy The documents of a storage f location at any level are clearly shown. The higher up in the hierarchy the longer the document li t d t list. Brief summary and general indexed information is shown in the first tab. A small representation of the specific document i d t is shown in the lower right corner. This example is linked to the inspection and maintenance system, as such the inspection and maintenance tab appears. Furthermore the traffic light integrity status appears appears.

This is Thi i a i.DOCUMENT Pro feature. The actual document does not have to be retrieved; th ti d the values are now all clearly visible. Once indexed into the database, the search engine can fi d th find the document based on detail specifications. Engineering documents have a lot of technical specifications; this can be designed into a form. form There are forms for the different document types and equipment types. So indexing document is precise and relevant.
The user who last updated this information and when it was done is clearly shown shown.

Documents can be queried based on partial identifiers (key) or partial descriptions.

Normal library system cannot be used to handle engineering documents and drawings Engineering documents and drawings contain highly technical engineering information i f ti An Engineering Document Management System is needed to help in this issue Each type of document will need its own specific form; single generic form for all documents and drawings will not work Document Type specific forms will also create a central engineering facility and equipment database With the central engineering database information is much easier to locate and kept up to date With the engineering database, more advanced integrity and reliability methods like RBI and RCM can be more effectively employed With equipment information being readily available, better informed decisions can be made.
