Foxes are most active at night, but also are day animals. By affinity with the animal totem, you may

be closer to your natural state.
Working with dreams is a particularly useful practice for those who have the fox as a spirit guide.
The affinity with the night activities supports the connection with the dream world.
Fox animal symbolism and traditions
The fox is often associated with the dark side of magic. In a lot of cultures, seeing a fox as you
start a new project or endeavor is a bad omen. In some Native American belief systems, this
animal represents the practice of negative sorcery and the dark manipulation of magic powers.
The fox has long been considered as a witty, quick and intelligent. In some European traditional
tales, he’s the character who outsmarts humans and other animals alike and gets away even in the
trickiest situations.

I was doing a meditation with kundalini raising a few days back and I tend to get
colour when I do this, of late a very vibrant rose pink. Right at the end of it though, I
saw the image of a fox. It was just the face, looking at me. Very similar to the one in
the pic on this site. My first inner response was that it represented my (fairly
recently) ex-partner who I have found has on many occasions been quite
controlling, sneaky, as well as lying to get the outcome he wants. Plus he also really
likes foxes and wolves. Or it could be guiding me towards having more fox
characteristics. What do you think?

When it comes to deciphering totem meanings I always default to my deepest
instincts. Normally, when I see an animal I attribute it to the first thing that
comes to mind – whatever thoughts were triggered by the sighting. This, I
believe, is likely the strongest connection to the sighting.

Tonight I was watching TV and I heard steps outside my window. I looked out and saw
something walking by. I opened my door and there was a red fox walking around. It came up to
me slowly and I noticed it was injured. It’s tail was broken. I thought it might be rabid. It came
right up to me and just looked. I had the feeling that it wanted to come inside. It stayed there for
about five minutes. I called the police to see if animal control would come but they wouldn’t.
Then it hopped over the fence and left. This was about twenty minutes ago. I have this
overwhelming feeling of sadness and hope. I’m about to start another semester of grad school
and I have been feeling really nervous and anxious, uncertainty about what will happen next as
I will be teaching. Before I moved to new york I lived in Arizona. Two grey foxes walked in front
of me in Tempe. They were very close. It seems like foxes keep showing up in my life and
tonight I had such a strong experience and interaction. I have felt so lonely away from my family
and friends and have been isolate over winter break just waiting to go back to school. It has
been a mild depression. I feel like the fox was waiting with me. I feel crazy for saying all of this
but I feel something unexplainable. I had to see what it might mean so I came here.

Our friend angela saw a white fox so my sister and i ended up on this site and
read ur story- sounds like you needed company as much as that fox did and
you both shared a unique encounter. He jumped over a fence with a broken
tail and you as well will overcome any obstacles. regarding your life path and
where it may lead you. Sometimes you will go it alone and sometimes you will
have company like the pair of gray foxes.

Kyle – I have been feeling a peculiar desire for isolation this year – 2014. The
more I interact with people, the more I want to spend my days and evenings
with the wild ones, the animals. Late this afternoon I was driving to the
grocery when, on a fairly busy street, a beautiful and large red fox crossed
from an elementary school lot to a cemetery lot. I stopped my car in traffic to
watch it pass and disappear; it was running at a good pace, but looking back,
as if hunted, which made me sad. Thought about it on the way home and
have been preoccupied with the possible symbolism for my own state of
being, since I have been feeling like a captured and caged animal for quite
some time. I am not so sure the fox appears to offer a solution, but appears
when it is appropriate and important to make us aware of our “trappings”, if
you will. I share your sadness upon seeing a n y creature injured, but think I
can say with some assurance, it was part illusion… a mirror image of the self
which presents in a time of struggle to help us observe our situation(s) from
the outside, looking in, as opposed to to being inside, looking outward most
of the time. Peace, friend. I am not an expert, but my intuition has served me
well over the years, often to a fault.

I’ve always been intrigued by the mythological role of foxes in different cultures.
They are a common sighting in London so in ever really paid much attention other
than enjoying catching sight of one on a walk home. About five years ago I was
installing a piece of work at for a crit at art school. It was evening time, dark outside.
I was installing the work and unsure how to attach one part of the sculpture as it
needed to be secured into the ground. I left the room to walk outside to think and I
saw a fox wandering near the bushes, I went closer to where it was a it ran ahead, I
kept following it and then it disappeared off. I stopped where the fox had left me and

there was a square concrete block with a hook sunk into it, exactly what I needed to
secure my sculpture. I’d forgotten about this until today when I was standing on the
platform waiting for a train after a frustrating day at my studio, thinking about the
physical tension in my work, feeling dejected when a fox jumped down on to the
busy train platform, stood around then jumped on to the tracks, up on to the other
side and sauntered off into the bushes.

Had a weird, shocking thing happen yesterday – opened my front door and found a
large fox dead just outside. Poor thing was mangy and had raw flesh on its rump. I
had heard sounds outside the previous two nights but it didn’t sound like an animal
in distress and I couldn’t see anything out there … Then the night before, one of my
cats went to the front door as though something was there – of course, now I know
there was.
Quite upsetting – hope it didn’t suffer too much. And that it’s not a portent of
something bad ….

hmm, my first encounter with a fox was the day before a major event in my family.
To say the least, it was not a happy event. Everytime I saw the fox it was always at
night or predawn. Everytime I saw it, it seemed that this event escalated and
become a bigger nightmare. I began to avoid going out at night or hurriedly would
leave for work in the pre dawn hours so our paths would not cross.
However, after reading this article, I feel much more at peace with its visits. The
event required much quick thinking and difficult decisions for me. Now, three years
later, I understand that we are able to overcome tragedy and heartbreaking times
and come out ahead.

I saw a fox walking in the field by my house this morning …and lately I have been

or does it mean that there are darker forces at play and deception. Does anyone
have any thoughts on this?

Last night I had a dream in which a red fox came up to me face to face and walked
toward my back, pushed me down and cuddled me. The fox fell asleep, and I
obviously was terrified. I waited for the perfect moment to run off. The fox never
attacked me and it did was hug me and find comfort in my arms. When I ran off the
fox layed there on the ground next to a tree and it began to rain. The water rose to
the foxes me am and it stayed there with a look of happiness. What can all this

I went to Washington DC this week-end and as I was walking with my son on the left
side of the square water piece that lead to Lincoln memorial, a fox crossed right in
front of us and then went away towards the WWII memorial. We continue our walk
and then went to see the Korean memorial and the vietman memorial and about
30mn later as we were walking on the right side of the square water piece, closer to
the road, the same fox came again very close to us and left. This was the strangest
thing, especially to see a fox in DC and to see him twice! did he have a message to
deliver? I do not know

My husband and I saw that fox in May 2013. He seemed semi-tame. Glad to
hear he is still around. Yes, we think that his presence is a good sign,
although foxes in urban settings are not that unusual. We have lost ours as
the coyotes have moved in, so maybe it is a message about refuge.

Yesterday I was out camping with my closest friend. She fell asleep early so I
decided to go walk around and explore. As I was walking, I decided to stop to eat my
snack I had brought. Suddenly, I saw a beautiful red fox and it was walking towards
me slowly. I held out my food in my hand and the fox walked up carefully and took it.
It stood there looking at me for a few seconds before walking off and I decided to
return to my friend and tell her about it. After that experience, i have meditated and
seen a fox and I’ve had multiple dreams about foxes. I think the fox is my sprit
animal.

What a beautiful experience. Yes, I am sure that fox has come to you, and is
your spirit animal. I know, because it is also mine.
The fox trusted you enough to accept your gift. And made a point of making
itself know to you. And is also coming to you in dreams.
Love and blessings to you.

A few days after my dad passed away whom we had been not talking for years do to
his new girlfriend. My daughter and i went up to the grave yard where my mom was
burried to see if my dad had been buried (we were not allowed this information
either) when we went there we seen a large beautiful fox standing on my Mom’s
grave turned its head and walked away in the woods. amazed my daughter looked
up the meanings and then we went to scotia bank a half hour later and inside they
were selling stuffed fox’s. So much meaning to a fox I still dont know how to perceive
it was it a warning or a good sign…but incredible very believing in the after life.

Many years ago our spiritual leader, a woman with red hair, died. One of the
men who was digging her grave felt as though something was watching him.
He turned, and on the edge of the grave was a red fox, watching him. We did
have a lot of red foxes in those days, but it was also a powerful sign.

I just woke up from a dream in which I was travelling and then was in a warmer area
and was walking around in the woods. I started seeing a fox appear.. it would run
around and then come back. I was taking pictures of it. There was also a man there.
He was my age.. it felt like it could have been in California. He was carrying three
babies. There was a three year old blonde girl there, too. I was following the fox and
ignoring the children and kept on taking pictures of the fox. Some photos showed
up in my camera and others didn’t.

I had a dream where I was in this haunted house. The people living there were
trying to give me gifts but I keep throwing them back because I know the items carry
the sprouts that were haunting the house. I was trying to get my son and husband
out of there.anyway, fast forward,I went through a door in the house that took my
son my husband and I to a school hallway. I was running through there and I noticed
the children were evil. I pushed them out of my way and proceeded to an
emergency door that took me to a river bank where th river split into 3paths. I
started to crawl across the river bank to see where to go. Then I saw a fox and it
was burying itself in the sand.I sol don’t know what every little thing was about.

I was meditating and I saw a wall of fog. I thought this to be a spirit realm or spiritual
plain, then I hear soft untranslatable whispers. I am not sure how much later but
soon the wall of fog started to shake like something was disturbing it. A small hole
appeared in the fog and the feeling of an animal was trying to break through. A
FOX!, I was surprised; at first all I saw was the foxes figure and then increasingly
vivid I saw more detail. The fox ran towards me and I felt as if this fox was trying to
introduce itself for years. At that moment when the fox reached me he began to take
on a very playful characteristic.I saw my fox and me at A house I can only see in my
mind for a place does not exist to my knowledge. I was in bliss until my mind started
to wonder of random things in my day to day lives and I felt myself slipping until I
awoke from meditation. I have not physically seen my fox guide as much, hardly
ever, but I can feel its energy and I can call from it as it from me. I am not really sure
much about it but I would say that the fox is my guide because of the kinship that I
felt and feel about “fox”

For the past 4 yrs Ive lived with a fox, I raised her since she was 4 weeks old. Which
I am glad I did, I am sure allot of people would like to believe this jargon, like it
means something, but it does not, and anyone who has raised them and lives with
them will tell you the same thing, there is no meaning behind it. There is just as
much meaning behind it as owning a cat or a dog, although you’ll end up with allot
more scars with a fox.

your spirit animal can change as your life changes. Spirit animals are there

circles. I felt as if it was trying to warn me of something or just to get my head

Last year my grandma passed away and while we were burying her ashes 2 foxes
