FUND THE FUTURE
Dear Patron, 3 billion people live on less than $2.50 per person per day. I need you to help eliminate this statistic by donating money to send me to the Northeastern University Social Entrepreneurship Institute’s Field Study Program in the Dominican Republic in June of 2010. This program combines traditional classroom learning with field experience. The classes, taken in the morning, cover a range of subjects including social enterprise, microfinance, and microcredit and their impact on poverty elimination. By helping the country’s poorest people, including illegal Haitian migrants, develop businesses in the “batey” communities, we learn how to implement the methods and theories we learn in the classroom. By donating you contribute to the development of a leader, sending a middle school child to high school, and to raising awareness to the blatant violation of human rights affecting half of the world’s people unlucky enough to be born in the wrong zip code. For more information about microfinance, my fundraising efforts, and me visit my blog at www.fundthefutureBLOG.blogspot.com, and join my Facebook Fan Page “Fund the Future;” for more information about the program visit their website, www.neu.edu/sei.
