Join Us Tonight! Tonight! Open House and Book Fair  Please join us for our Open House tonight, Thursday Thursday,, May 23, from 7:00-8:00 pm. Open House is an opportunity for your child to share classroom projects and activities with you. Thank you in advance for keeping your children with you at all times as you visit our classrooms. Please remember that the playground is not open for play during Open House, and skateboards, scooters and bicycles are not allowed on campus. Our Spring Book Fair will also be open from 5:30-7:30 tonight, in the GLC. Parent Survey  A special "thank you" to our Gator Gator families for for participating in in our 2012-2013 Parent Survey Survey.. We enjoyed a 72% response rate! Our staff will examine the data and identify next steps toward continued improvement. As promised in our previous Gatoraid, below the second half of the data from the “School Environment” section of the survey:

BEFORE YOU MAKE TRAVEL PLANS   At the end of the the school year students must must be in attendance on the last day of school, June 12, 2013 to retain their place on the roster for the 2013 - 2014 school year. At the beginning of the school year, year, students must be in attendance on the first day of school, August 19, 2013 or they will not retain their place on the roster. FROM OUR SCHOOL NURSE JODI QUINTON, RN, MS, CNS If you have stored your child’s medication in the school health office, please make arrangements to take it home on the last day of school. Please note: All medications will be released released only to a parent or guardian. Any medications that remain after the close of school will be discarded. If your student will need medication during the school day for the next school year, a Medication  Administration form must be completed.  Administration completed. The form is available in the school school office. Please note that in order for medications to be given, both the doctor and the parent must sign the the form. When completed, bri bring ng the Medication Administration Administration form and the medication (in the original container) to the secretaries in the school office. SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL Have you always wanted to know what goes on "behind the scenes" at Garden Gate? Do you want to be heard on issues involving the school? Then join the School Site Council. We will have two openings for parents starting with the 2013-2014 school year. We ask for a two-year commitment, and the ability to attend one after-school meeting a month at school. MISSING TEXTBOOKS TEXTBOOKS AND LIBRARY BOOKS Please take a moment and search under beds and on student bookshelves for any overdue books from our library or lost classroom textbooks. You will receive a bill for any books that have not been returned. Yearbooks Yearbooks and report cards will be held until all balances have been cleared. If the book is found after you have paid, your money will be refunded. Thank you for your support in teaching responsibility to our students. The library will be closing May 31in order to take inventory

Please remember to check the Lost & Found for your  child’s misplaced items. It is overflowing! On June 12th, all unclaimed items will be donated to a charity. We would much rather have them returned to their   owners, so take a walk to the Lost & Found which is located behind the office building.
