Holy Ghost
1 Corinthians 12:3 - Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by
the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the
Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
1 Corinthians 2:13 - Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s
wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things
with spiritual.
1 Corinthians 6:19 - What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy
Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
1 John 5:7 - For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word,
and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
1 Nephi 10:11 - And it came to pass after my father had spoken these words he
spake unto my brethren concerning the gospel which should be preached among
the Jews, and also concerning the dwindling of the Jews in unbelief. And after they
had slain the Messiah, who should come, and after he had been slain he should rise
from the dead, and should make himself manifest, by the Holy Ghost, unto the
Gentiles.
1 Nephi 10:17 - And it came to pass after I, Nephi, having heard all the words of my
father, concerning the things which he saw in a vision, and also the things which he
spake by the power of the Holy Ghost, which power he received by faith on the Son
of God—and the Son of God was the Messiah who should come—I, Nephi, was
desirous also that I might see, and hear, and know of these things, by the power of
the Holy Ghost, which is the gift of God unto all those who diligently seek him, as
well in times of old as in the time that he should manifest himself unto the children
of men.
1 Nephi 10:19 - For he that diligently seeketh shall find; and the mysteries of God
shall be unfolded unto them, by the power of the Holy Ghost, as well in these times
as in times of old, and as well in times of old as in times to come; wherefore, the
course of the Lord is one eternal round.
1 Nephi 10:22 - And the Holy Ghost giveth authority that I should speak these
things, and deny them not.
1 Nephi 11:27 - And I looked and beheld the Redeemer of the world, of whom my
father had spoken; and I also beheld the prophet who should prepare the way
before him. And the Lamb of God went forth and was baptized of him; and after he
was baptized, I beheld the heavens open, and the Holy Ghost come down out of
heaven and abide upon him in the form of a dove.
1 Nephi 12:18 - And the large and spacious building, which thy father saw, is vain
imaginations and the pride of the children of men. And a great and a terrible gulf
divideth them; yea, even the word of the justice of the Eternal God, and the Messiah
who is the Lamb of God, of whom the Holy Ghost beareth record, from the beginning
of the world until this time, and from this time henceforth and forever.

1 Nephi 12:7 - And I also saw and bear record that the Holy Ghost fell upon twelve
others; and they were ordained of God, and chosen.
1 Nephi 13:37 - And blessed are they who shall seek to bring forth my Zion at that
day, for they shall have the gift and the power of the Holy Ghost; and if they endure
unto the end they shall be lifted up at the last day, and shall be saved in the
everlasting kingdom of the Lamb; and whoso shall publish peace, yea, tidings of
great joy, how beautiful upon the mountains shall they be.
1 Peter 1:12 - Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us
they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have
preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which
things the angels desire to look into.
1 Thessalonians 1:5 - For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in
power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of
men we were among you for your sake.
2 Corinthians 13:14 - The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and
the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.
2 Corinthians 6:6 - By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the
Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned,
2 Nephi 26:13 - And that he manifesteth himself unto all those who believe in him,
by the power of the Holy Ghost; yea, unto every nation, kindred, tongue, and
people, working mighty miracles, signs, and wonders, among the children of men
according to their faith.
2 Nephi 28:26 - Yea, wo be unto him that hearkeneth unto the precepts of men, and
denieth the power of God, and the gift of the Holy Ghost!
2 Nephi 28:31 - Cursed is he that putteth his trust in man, or maketh flesh his arm,
or shall hearken unto the precepts of men, save their precepts shall be given by the
power of the Holy Ghost.
2 Nephi 31:12 - And also, the voice of the Son came unto me, saying: He that is
baptized in my name, to him will the Father give the Holy Ghost, like unto me;
wherefore, follow me, and do the things which ye have seen me do.
2 Nephi 31:14 - But, behold, my beloved brethren, thus came the voice of the Son
unto me, saying: After ye have repented of your sins, and witnessed unto the Father
that ye are willing to keep my commandments, by the baptism of water, and have
received the baptism of fire and of the Holy Ghost, and can speak with a new
tongue, yea, even with the tongue of angels, and after this should deny me, it would
have been better for you that ye had not known me.
2 Nephi 31:17 - Wherefore, do the things which I have told you I have seen that your
Lord and your Redeemer should do; for, for this cause have they been shown unto
me, that ye might know the gate by which ye should enter. For the gate by which ye

should enter is repentance and baptism by water; and then cometh a remission of
your sins by fire and by the Holy Ghost.
2 Nephi 31:18 - And then are ye in this strait and narrow path which leads to eternal
life; yea, ye have entered in by the gate; ye have done according to the
commandments of the Father and the Son; and ye have received the Holy Ghost,
which witnesses of the Father and the Son, unto the fulfilling of the promise which
he hath made, that if ye entered in by the way ye should receive.
2 Nephi 31:21 - And now, behold, my beloved brethren, this is the way; and there is
none other way nor name given under heaven whereby man can be saved in the
kingdom of God. And now, behold, this is the doctrine of Christ, and the only and
true doctrine of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, which is one God,
without end. Amen.
2 Nephi 31:8 - Wherefore, after he was baptized with water the Holy Ghost
descended upon him in the form of a dove.
2 Nephi 32:2 - Angels speak by the power of the Holy Ghost; wherefore, they speak
the words of Christ. Wherefore, I said unto you, feast upon the words of Christ; for
behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do.
2 Nephi 32:2 - Do ye not remember that I said unto you that after ye had received
the Holy Ghost ye could speak with the tongue of angels? And now, how could ye
speak with the tongue of angels save it were by the Holy Ghost?
2 Nephi 32:5 - For behold, again I say unto you that if ye will enter in by the way,
and receive the Holy Ghost, it will show unto you all things what ye should do.
2 Nephi 33:1 - And now I, Nephi, cannot write all the things which were taught
among my people; neither am I mighty in writing, like unto speaking; for when a
man speaketh by the power of the Holy Ghost the power of the Holy Ghost carrieth
it unto the hearts of the children of men.
2 Peter 1:21 - For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy
men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
2 Timothy 1:14 - That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy
Ghost which dwelleth in us.
3 Nephi 11:25 - Having authority given me of Jesus Christ, I baptize you in the name
of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.
3 Nephi 11:27 - And after this manner shall ye baptize in my name; for behold,
verily I say unto you, that the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost are one; and I
am in the Father, and the Father in me, and the Father and I are one.
3 Nephi 11:32 - And this is my doctrine, and it is the doctrine which the Father hath
given unto me; and I bear record of the Father, and the Father beareth record of me,
and the Holy Ghost beareth record of the Father and me; and I bear record that the
Father commandeth all men, everywhere, to repent and believe in me.

3 Nephi 11:35 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, that this is my doctrine, and I bear
record of it from the Father; and whoso believeth in me believeth in the Father also;
and unto him will the Father bear record of me, for he will visit him with fire and with
the Holy Ghost.
3 Nephi 11:36 - And thus will the Father bear record of me, and the Holy Ghost will
bear record unto him of the Father and me; for the Father, and I, and the Holy Ghost
are one.
3 Nephi 12:1 - And it came to pass that when Jesus had spoken these words unto
Nephi, and to those who had been called, (now the number of them who had been
called, and received power and authority to baptize, was twelve) and behold, he
stretched forth his hand unto the multitude, and cried unto them, saying: Blessed
are ye if ye shall give heed unto the words of these twelve whom I have chosen
from among you to minister unto you, and to be your servants; and unto them I
have given power that they may baptize you with water; and after that ye are
baptized with water, behold, I will baptize you with fire and with the Holy Ghost;
therefore blessed are ye if ye shall believe in me and be baptized, after that ye have
seen me and know that I am.
3 Nephi 12:2 - And again, more blessed are they who shall believe in your words
because that ye shall testify that ye have seen me, and that ye know that I am. Yea,
blessed are they who shall believe in your words, and come down into the depths of
humility and be baptized, for they shall be visited with fire and with the Holy Ghost,
and shall receive a remission of their sins.
3 Nephi 15:23 - And they understood me not that I said they shall hear my voice;
and they understood me not that the Gentiles should not at any time hear my voice
—that I should not manifest myself unto them save it were by the Holy Ghost.
3 Nephi 16:4 - And I command you that ye shall write these sayings after I am gone,
that if it so be that my people at Jerusalem, they who have seen me and been with
me in my ministry, do not ask the Father in my name, that they may receive a
knowledge of you by the Holy Ghost, and also of the other tribes whom they know
not of, that these sayings which ye shall write shall be kept and shall be manifested
unto the Gentiles, that through the fulness of the Gentiles, the remnant of their
seed, who shall be scattered forth upon the face of the earth because of their
unbelief, may be brought in, or may be brought to a knowledge of me, their
Redeemer.
3 Nephi 18:37 - And the multitude heard not the words which he spake, therefore
they did not bear record; but the disciples bare record that he gave them power to
give the Holy Ghost. And I will show unto you hereafter that this record is true.
3 Nephi 19:13 - And it came to pass when they were all baptized and had come up
out of the water, the Holy Ghost did fall upon them, and they were filled with the
Holy Ghost and with fire.
3 Nephi 19:20-22 - Father, I thank thee that thou hast given the Holy Ghost unto
these whom I have chosen; and it is because of their belief in me that I have chosen

them out of the world. Father, I pray thee that thou wilt give the Holy Ghost unto all
them that shall believe in their words. Father, thou hast given them the Holy Ghost
because they believe in me; and thou seest that they believe in me because thou
hearest them, and they pray unto me; and they pray unto me because I am with
them.
3 Nephi 19:9 - And they did pray for that which they most desired; and they desired
that the Holy Ghost should be given unto them.
3 Nephi 20:27 - And after that ye were blessed then fulfilleth the Father the
covenant which he made with Abraham, saying: In thy seed shall all the kindreds of
the earth be blessed—unto the pouring out of the Holy Ghost through me upon the
Gentiles, which blessing upon the Gentiles shall make them mighty above all, unto
the scattering of my people, O house of Israel.
3 Nephi 21:2 - And behold, this is the thing which I will give unto you for a sign—for
verily I say unto you that when these things which I declare unto you, and which I
shall declare unto you hereafter of myself, and by the power of the Holy Ghost
which shall be given unto you of the Father, shall be made known unto the Gentiles
that they may know concerning this people who are a remnant of the house of
Jacob, and concerning this my people who shall be scattered by them;
3 Nephi 26:17 - And it came to pass that the disciples whom Jesus had chosen
began from that time forth to baptize and to teach as many as did come unto them;
and as many as were baptized in the name of Jesus were filled with the Holy Ghost.
3 Nephi 27:20 - Now this is the commandment: Repent, all ye ends of the earth, and
come unto me and be baptized in my name, that ye may be sanctified by the
reception of the Holy Ghost, that ye may stand spotless before me at the last day.
3 Nephi 28:11 - And the Holy Ghost beareth record of the Father and me; and the
Father giveth the Holy Ghost unto the children of men, because of me.
3 Nephi 28:18 - But this much I know, according to the record which hath been
given—they did go forth upon the face of the land, and did minister unto all the
people, uniting as many to the church as would believe in their preaching; baptizing
them, and as many as were baptized did receive the Holy Ghost.
3 Nephi 29:6 - Yea, wo unto him that shall deny the revelations of the Lord, and that
shall say the Lord no longer worketh by revelation, or by prophecy, or by gifts, or by
tongues, or by healings, or by the power of the Holy Ghost!
3 Nephi 30:2 - Turn, all ye Gentiles, from your wicked ways; and repent of your evil
doings, of your lyings and deceivings, and of your whoredoms, and of your secret
abominations, and your idolatries, and of your murders, and your priestcrafts, and
your envyings, and your strifes, and from all your wickedness and abominations,
and come unto me, and be baptized in my name, that ye may receive a remission of
your sins, and be filled with the Holy Ghost, that ye may be numbered with my
people who are of the house of Israel.

3 Nephi 9:20 - And ye shall offer for a sacrifice unto me a broken heart and a
contrite spirit. And whoso cometh unto me with a broken heart and a contrite spirit,
him will I baptize with fire and with the Holy Ghost, even as the Lamanites, because
of their faith in me at the time of their conversion, were baptized with fire and with
the Holy Ghost, and they knew it not.
4 Nephi 1:1 - And it came to pass that the thirty and fourth year passed away, and
also the thirty and fifth, and behold the disciples of Jesus had formed a church of
Christ in all the lands round about. And as many as did come unto them, and did
truly repent of their sins, were baptized in the name of Jesus; and they did also
receive the Holy Ghost.
4 Nephi 1:48 - And it came to pass that when three hundred and twenty years had
passed away, Ammaron, being constrained by the Holy Ghost, did hide up the
records which were sacred—yea, even all the sacred records which had been
handed down from generation to generation, which were sacred—even until the
three hundred and twentieth year from the coming of Christ.
74 Our minds being now enlightened, we began to have the scriptures laid open to
our understandings, and the true meaning and intention of their more mysterious
passages revealed unto us in a manner which we never could attain to previously,
nor ever before had thought of.
Act 1:16 - Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which
the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was
guide to them that took Jesus.
Acts 1:2 - Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy
Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:
Acts 1:5 - For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy
Ghost not many days hence.
Acts 1:8 - But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you:
and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa, and in
Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Acts 10:44 - While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them
which heard the word.
Acts 10:45 - And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many
as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the
Holy Ghost.
Acts 10:47 - Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which
have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
Acts 11:15 - And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the
beginning.
Acts 11:16 - Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed
baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

Acts 11:24 - For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and
much people was added unto the Lord.
Acts 13:2 - As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate
me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.
Acts 13:4 - So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed unto Seleucia; and
from thence they sailed to Cyprus.
Acts 13:52 - And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost.
Acts 13:9 - Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his
eyes on him,
Acts 15:28 - For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no
greater burden than these necessary things;
Acts 15:8 - And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the
Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;
Acts 16:6 - Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia,
and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,
Acts 19:2 - He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed?
And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy
Ghost.
Acts 19:6 - And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on
them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
Acts 2:33 - Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of
the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see
and hear.
Acts 2:38 - Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in
the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the
Holy Ghost.
Acts 2:4 - And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with
other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Acts 20:23 - Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds
and afflictions abide me.
Acts 20:28 - Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the
which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he
hath purchased with his own blood.
Acts 21:11 - And when he was come unto us, he took Paul’s girdle, and bound his
own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at
Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands
of the Gentiles.

Acts 28:25 - And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after
that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet
unto our fathers,
Acts 4:31 - And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were
assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake
the word of God with boldness.
Acts 4:8 - Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the
people, and elders of Israel,
Acts 5:3 - But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy
Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
Acts 5:32 - And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost,
whom God hath given to them that obey him.
Acts 6:5 - And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a
man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and
Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:
Acts 7:51 - Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist
the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.
Acts 7:55 - But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up steadfastly into heaven,
and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,
Acts 9:17 - And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his
hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in
the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be
filled with the Holy Ghost.
Acts 9:31 - Then had the churches rest throughout all Judæa and Galilee and
Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of
the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.
Alma 13:12 - Now they, after being sanctified by the Holy Ghost, having their
garments made white, being pure and spotless before God, could not look upon sin
save it were with abhorrence; and there were many, exceedingly great many, who
were made pure and entered into the rest of the Lord their God.
Alma 34:38 - That ye contend no more against the Holy Ghost, but that ye receive
it, and take upon you the name of Christ; that ye humble yourselves even to the
dust, and worship God, in whatsoever place ye may be in, in spirit and in truth; and
that ye live in thanksgiving daily, for the many mercies and blessings which he doth
bestow upon you.
Alma 36:24 - Yea, and from that time even until now, I have labored without
ceasing, that I might bring souls unto repentance; that I might bring them to taste
of the exceeding joy of which I did taste; that they might also be born of God, and
be filled with the Holy Ghost.

Alma 39:5 - Know ye not, my son, that these things are an abomination in the sight
of the Lord; yea, most abominable above all sins save it be the shedding of innocent
blood or denying the Holy Ghost?
Alma 39:6 - For behold, if ye deny the Holy Ghost when it once has had place in you,
and ye know that ye deny it, behold, this is a sin which is unpardonable; yea, and
whosoever murdereth against the light and knowledge of God, it is not easy for him
to obtain forgiveness; yea, I say unto you, my son, that it is not easy for him to
obtain a forgiveness.
Alma 7:10 - And behold, he shall be born of Mary, at Jerusalem which is the land of
our forefathers, she being a virgin, a precious and chosen vessel, who shall be
overshadowed and conceive by the power of the Holy Ghost, and bring forth a son,
yea, even the Son of God.
Alma 8:30 - And Alma went forth, and also Amulek, among the people, to declare
the words of God unto them; and they were filled with the Holy Ghost.
Alma 9:21 - Having been visited by the Spirit of God; having conversed with angels,
and having been spoken unto by the voice of the Lord; and having the spirit of
prophecy, and the spirit of revelation, and also many gifts, the gift of speaking with
tongues, and the gift of preaching, and the gift of the Holy Ghost, and the gift of
translation;
Articles of Faith 1:1 - We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus
Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
Articles of Faith 1:4 - We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the
Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism
by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the
Holy Ghost.
D & C 130:23 - A man may receive the Holy Ghost, and it may descend upon him
and not tarry with him.
D&C 100:8 - And I give unto you this promise, that inasmuch as ye do this the Holy
Ghost shall be shed forth in bearing record unto all things whatsoever ye shall say.
D&C 107:56 - And Adam stood up in the midst of the congregation; and,
notwithstanding he was bowed down with age, being full of the Holy Ghost,
predicted whatsoever should befall his posterity unto the latest generation.
D&C 109:15 - And that they may grow up in thee, and receive a fulness of the Holy
Ghost, and be organized according to thy laws, and be prepared to obtain every
needful thing;
D&C 121: 46 - The Holy Ghost shall be thy constant companion, and thy scepter an
unchanging scepter of righteousness and truth; and thy dominion shall be an
everlasting dominion, and without compulsory means it shall flow unto thee forever
and ever.

D&C 121:43 - Reproving betimes with sharpness, when moved upon by the Holy
Ghost; and then showing forth afterwards an increase of love toward him whom
thou hast reproved, lest he esteem thee to be his enemy;
D&C 130:22 - The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s; the
Son also; but the Holy Ghost has not a body of flesh and bones, but is a personage
of Spirit. Were it not so, the Holy Ghost could not dwell in us.
D&C 132:27 - The blasphemy against the Holy Ghost, which shall not be forgiven in
the world nor out of the world, is in that ye commit murder wherein ye shed
innocent blood, and assent unto my death, after ye have received my new and
everlasting covenant, saith the Lord God; and he that abideth not this law can in
nowise enter into my glory, but shall be damned, saith the Lord.
D&C 138:33 - These were taught faith in God, repentance from sin, vicarious
baptism for the remission of sins, the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of
hands,
D&C 14:8 - And it shall come to pass, that if you shall ask the Father in my name, in
faith believing, you shall receive the Holy Ghost, which giveth utterance, that you
may stand as a witness of the things of which you shall both hear and see, and also
that you may declare repentance unto this generation.
D&C 16:16 - And again, it is given by the Holy Ghost to some to know the diversities
of operations, whether they be of God, that the manifestations of the Spirit may be
given to every man to profit withal.
D&C 18:18 - Ask the Father in my name in faith, believing that you shall receive,

unto the children of men.
D&C 18:32 - And, behold, you are they who are ordained of me to ordain priests and
teachers; to declare my gospel, according to the power of the Holy Ghost which is in
you, and according to the callings and gifts of God unto men;
D&C 19:31 - And of tenets thou shalt not talk, but thou shalt declare repentance and
faith on the Savior, and remission of sins by baptism, and by fire, yea, even the Holy
Ghost.
D&C 20:26 - Not only those who believed after he came in the meridian of time, in
the flesh, but all those from the beginning, even as many as were before he came,
who believed in the words of the holy prophets, who spake as they were inspired by
the gift of the Holy Ghost, who truly testified of him in all things, should have
eternal life,

and callings of God by the Holy Ghost, which beareth record of the Father and of the

D&C 20:28 - Which Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are one God, infinite and eternal,
without end. Amen.

D&C 20:35 - And we know that these things are true and according to the
revelations of John, neither adding to, nor diminishing from the prophecy of his
book, the holy scriptures, or the revelations of God which shall come hereafter by
the gift and power of the Holy Ghost, the voice of God, or the ministering of angels.
D&C 20:41 - And to confirm those who are baptized into the church, by the laying on
of hands for the baptism of fire and the Holy Ghost, according to the scriptures;
D&C 20:43 - And to confirm the church by the laying on of the hands, and the giving
of the Holy Ghost;
D&C 20:45 - The elders are to conduct the meetings as they are led by the Holy
Ghost, according to the commandments and revelations of God.
D&C 20:60 - Every elder, priest, teacher, or deacon is to be ordained according to
the gifts and callings of God unto him; and he is to be ordained by the power of the
Holy Ghost, which is in the one who ordains him
D&C 20:73 - The person who is called of God and has authority from Jesus Christ to
baptize, shall go down into the water with the person who has presented himself or
herself for baptism, and shall say, calling him or her by name: Having been
commissioned of Jesus Christ, I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the
Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.
D&C 25:8 - For he shall lay his hands upon thee, and thou shalt receive the Holy
Ghost, and thy time shall be given to writing, and to learning much.
D&C 33:11 - Yea, repent and be baptized, every one of you, for a remission of your
sins; yea, be baptized even by water, and then cometh the baptism of fire and of
the Holy Ghost.
D&C 33:15 - And whoso having faith you shall confirm in my church, by the laying
on of the hands, and I will bestow the gift of the Holy Ghost upon them.
D&C 34:10 - Wherefore, lift up your voice and spare not, for the Lord God hath
spoken; therefore prophesy, and it shall be given by the power of the Holy Ghost.
D&C 35:19 - Wherefore, watch over him that his faith fail not, and it shall be given
by the Comforter, the Holy Ghost, that knoweth all things.
D&C 35:5 - Thou didst baptize by water unto repentance, but they received not the
Holy Ghost;

water, and they shall receive the Holy Ghost by the laying on of the hands, even as

D&C 36:2 - And I will lay my hand upon you by the hand of my servant Sidney
Rigdon, and you shall receive my Spirit, the Holy Ghost, even the Comforter, which
shall teach you the peaceable things of the kingdom;

D&C 39:23 - And again, it shall come to pass that on as many as ye shall baptize
with water, ye shall lay your hands, and they shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost,
and shall be looking forth for the signs of my coming, and shall know me.
D&C 39:6 - And this is my gospel—repentance and baptism by water, and then
cometh the baptism of fire and the Holy Ghost, even the Comforter, which showeth
all things, and teacheth the peaceable things of the kingdom.
D&C 46:13 - To some it is given by the Holy Ghost to know that Jesus Christ is the
Son of God, and that he was crucified for the sins of the world.
D&C 46:15 - And again, to some it is given by the Holy Ghost to know the
differences of administration, as it will be pleasing unto the same Lord, according as
the Lord will, suiting his mercies according to the conditions of the children of men.
D&C 49:14 - And whoso doeth this shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, by the
laying on of the hands of the elders of the church.
D&C 68:25 - And again, inasmuch as parents have children in Zion, or in any of her
stakes which are organized, that teach them not to understand the doctrine of
repentance, faith in Christ the Son of the living God, and of baptism and the gift of
the Holy Ghost by the laying on of the hands, when eight years old, the sin be upon
the heads of the parents.
D&C 68:4 - And whatsoever they shall speak when moved upon by the Holy Ghost
shall be scripture, shall be the will of the Lord, shall be the mind of the Lord, shall be
the word of the Lord, shall be the voice of the Lord, and the power of God unto
salvation.
D&C 68:8 - Go ye into all the world, preach the gospel to every creature, acting in
the authority which I have given you, baptizing in the name of the Father, and of the
Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
D&C 84:27 - Which gospel is the gospel of repentance and of baptism, and the
remission of sins, and the law of carnal commandments, which the Lord in his wrath
caused to continue with the house of Aaron among the children of Israel until John,
whom God raised up, being filled with the Holy Ghost from his mother’s womb.
D&C 84:64 - Therefore, as I said unto mine apostles I say unto you again, that every
soul who believeth on your words, and is baptized by water for the remission of sins,
shall receive the Holy Ghost.
D&C 84:74 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, they who believe not on your words, and
are not baptized in water in my name, for the remission of their sins, that they may
receive the Holy Ghost, shall be damned, and shall not come into my Father’s
kingdom where my Father and I am.
D&C 93:15 - And I, John, bear record, and lo, the heavens were opened, and the
Holy Ghost descended upon him in the form of a dove, and sat upon him, and there
came a voice out of heaven saying: This is my beloved Son.

Ether 12:18 - And I said unto him: Lord, the Gentiles will mock at these things,
because of our weakness in writing; for Lord thou hast made us mighty in word by
faith, but thou hast not made us mighty in writing; for thou hast made all this
people that they could speak much, because of the Holy Ghost which thou hast
given them;

prophets and apostles have written, that the grace of God the Father, and also the

Jacob 7:12 - And this is not all—it has been made manifest unto me, for I have heard
and seen; and it also has been made manifest unto me by the power of the Holy
Ghost; wherefore, I know if there should be no atonement made all mankind must
be lost.
Jacob 7:13 - And it came to pass that he said unto me: Show me a sign by this
power of the Holy Ghost, in the which ye know so much.
Jacob 7:17 - And it came to pass that on the morrow the multitude were gathered
together; and he spake plainly unto them and denied the things which he had

John 1:33 - And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same
said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on
him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
John 14:26 - But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send
in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance,

Joseph Smith – History 1:70 - He said this Aaronic Priesthood had not the power of
laying on hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost, but that this should be conferred on
us hereafter; and he commanded us to go and be baptized, and gave us directions
that I should baptize Oliver Cowdery, and that afterwards he should baptize me.
Joseph Smith – History 1:73,74 - Immediately on our coming up out of the water
after we had been baptized, we experienced great and glorious blessings from our
Heavenly Father. No sooner had I baptized Oliver Cowdery, than the Holy Ghost fell
upon him, and he stood up and prophesied many things which should shortly come
to pass. And again, so soon as I had been baptized by him, I also had the spirit of
prophecy, when, standing up, I prophesied concerning the rise of this Church, and
many other things connected with the Church, and this generation of the children of
men. We were filled with the Holy Ghost, and rejoiced in the God of our salvation.
JST John 1:32 - And I knew him; for he who sent me to baptize with water, the same

the workings of the Spirit, and by the power of the Holy Ghost; for as the power of

men may have faith in Christ, that the Holy Ghost may have place in their hearts,

withheld the power of the Holy Ghost from them? Or will he, so long as time shall

save the meek and lowly in heart; and if a man be meek and lowly in heart, and
confesses by the power of the Holy Ghost that Jesus is the Christ, he must needs
have charity; for if he have not charity he is nothing; wherefore he must needs have
charity.
Moroni 8:26 - And the remission of sins bringeth meekness, and lowliness of heart;
and because of meekness and lowliness of heart cometh the visitation of the Holy
Ghost, which Comforter filleth with hope and perfect love, which love endureth by

diligence unto prayer, until the end shall come, when all the saints shall dwell with

Holy Spirit
1 Nephi 2:17 - And I spake unto Sam, making known unto him the things which the
Lord had manifested unto me by his Holy Spirit. And it came to pass that he
believed in my words.
1 Thessalonians 4:8 - He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who
hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.
2 Nephi 2:28 - And now, my sons, I would that ye should look to the great Mediator,
and hearken unto his great commandments; and be faithful unto his words, and
choose eternal life, according to the will of his Holy Spirit;
2 Nephi 33:2 - But behold, there are many that harden their hearts against the Holy
Spirit, that it hath no place in them; wherefore, they cast many things away which
are written and esteem them as things of naught.
Alma 11:44 - Now, this restoration shall come to all, both old and young, both bond
and free, both male and female, both the wicked and the righteous; and even there
shall not so much as a hair of their heads be lost; but every thing shall be restored
to its perfect frame, as it is now, or in the body, and shall be brought and be

Alma 5:54 - Yea, will ye persist in supposing that ye are better one than another;
yea, will ye persist in the persecution of your brethren, who humble themselves and
do walk after the holy order of God, wherewith they have been brought into this
church, having been sanctified by the Holy Spirit, and they do bring forth works

covenant with her for time and for all eternity, if that covenant is not by me or by
my word, which is my law, and is not sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise, through
him whom I have anointed and appointed unto this power, then it is not valid
neither of force when they are out of the world, because they are not joined by me,
saith the Lord, neither by my word; when they are out of the world it cannot be
received there, because the angels and the gods are appointed there, by whom
they cannot pass; they cannot, therefore, inherit my glory; for my house is a house
of order, saith the Lord God.
D&C 132:19 - And again, verily I say unto you, if a man marry a wife by my word,
which is my law, and by the new and everlasting covenant, and it is sealed unto

them by the Holy Spirit of promise, by him who is anointed, unto whom I have
appointed this power and the keys of this priesthood; and it shall be said unto them
—Ye shall come forth in the first resurrection; and if it be after the first resurrection,
in the next resurrection; and shall inherit thrones, kingdoms, principalities, and
powers, dominions, all heights and depths—then shall it be written in the Lamb’s
Book of Life, that he shall commit no murder whereby to shed innocent blood, and if
ye abide in my covenant, and commit no murder whereby to shed innocent blood, it
shall be done unto them in all things whatsoever my servant hath put upon them, in
time, and through all eternity; and shall be of full force when they are out of the
world; and they shall pass by the angels, and the gods, which are set there, to their
exaltation and glory in all things, as hath been sealed upon their heads, which glory
shall be a fulness and a continuation of the seeds forever and ever.
D&C 132:26 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, if a man marry a wife according to my
word, and they are sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise, according to mine
appointment, and he or she shall commit any sin or transgression of the new and
everlasting covenant whatever, and all manner of blasphemies, and if they commit
no murder wherein they shed innocent blood, yet they shall come forth in the first
resurrection, and enter into their exaltation; but they shall be destroyed in the flesh,
and shall be delivered unto the buffetings of Satan unto the day of redemption,
saith the Lord God.
D&C 132:7 - And verily I say unto you, that the conditions of this law are these: All
covenants, contracts, bonds, obligations, oaths, vows, performances, connections,
associations, or expectations, that are not made and entered into and sealed by the
Holy Spirit of promise, of him who is anointed, both as well for time and for all
eternity, and that too most holy, by revelation and commandment through the
medium of mine anointed, whom I have appointed on the earth to hold this power
(and I have appointed unto my servant Joseph to hold this power in the last days,
and there is never but one on the earth at a time on whom this power and the keys
of this priesthood are conferred), are of no efficacy, virtue, or force in and after the
resurrection from the dead; for all contracts that are not made unto this end have
an end when men are dead.
D&C 45:57 - For they that are wise and have received the truth, and have taken the
Holy Spirit for their guide, and have not been deceived—verily I say unto you, they
shall not be hewn down and cast into the fire, but shall abide the day.
D&C 46:2 - But notwithstanding those things which are written, it always has been
given to the elders of my church from the beginning, and ever shall be, to conduct
all meetings as they are directed and guided by the Holy Spirit.
D&C 53:3 - Take upon you mine ordination, even that of an elder, to preach faith

members of the church—they that are appointed by the Holy Spirit to go up unto

D&C 76:116 - Neither is man capable to make them known, for they are only to be
seen and understood by the power of the Holy Spirit, which God bestows on those
who love him, and purify themselves before him;

Ephesians 1:13 - In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the

Mosiah 3:19 - For the natural man is an enemy to God, and has been from the fall of

1 Kings 18:12 - And it shall come to pass, as soon as I am gone from thee, that the
Spirit of the Lord shall carry thee whither I know not; and so when I come and tell
Ahab, and he cannot find thee, he shall slay me: but I thy servant fear the Lord from
my youth.
1 Nephi 1:12 - And it came to pass that as he read, he was filled with the Spirit of
the Lord.
1 Nephi 11:1 - For it came to pass after I had desired to know the things that my
father had seen, and believing that the Lord was able to make them known unto
me, as I sat pondering in mine heart I was caught away in the Spirit of the Lord, yea,
into an exceedingly high mountain, which I never had before seen, and upon which I
never had before set my foot.

1 Nephi 11:11 - And I said unto him: To know the interpretation thereof—for I spake
unto him as a man speaketh; for I beheld that he was in the form of a man; yet
nevertheless, I knew that it was the Spirit of the Lord; and he spake unto me as a
man speaketh with another.
1 Nephi 13:15 - And I beheld the Spirit of the Lord, that it was upon the Gentiles,
and they did prosper and obtain the land for their inheritance; and I beheld that
they were white, and exceedingly fair and beautiful, like unto my people before they

an olive tree, by the Spirit of the Lord which was in our father; and behold are we

Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of

2 Corinthians 3:17 - Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is,

2 Kings 2:16 - And they said unto him, Behold now, there be with thy servants fifty
strong men; let them go, we pray thee, and seek thy master: lest peradventure the

Spirit of the Lord hath taken him up, and cast him upon some mountain, or into

2 Nephi 1:27 - And it must needs be that the power of God must be with him, even
unto his commanding you that ye must obey. But behold, it was not he, but it was
the Spirit of the Lord which was in him, which opened his mouth to utterance that
he could not shut it.
2 Nephi 26:11 - For the Spirit of the Lord will not always strive with man. And when
the Spirit ceaseth to strive with man then cometh speedy destruction, and this

the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are

Acts 8:39 - And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord
caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way
rejoicing.
Alma 11:22 - And Amulek said unto him: Yea, if it be according to the Spirit of the
Lord, which is in me; for I shall say nothing which is contrary to the Spirit of the
Lord. And Zeezrom said unto him: Behold, here are six onties of silver, and all these
will I give thee if thou wilt deny the existence of a Supreme Being.
Alma 21:16 - And they went forth whithersoever they were led by the Spirit of the
Lord, preaching the word of God in every synagogue of the Amalekites, or in every
assembly of the Lamanites where they could be admitted.
Alma 22:4 - And Aaron said unto the king: Behold, the Spirit of the Lord has called
him another way; he has gone to the land of Ishmael, to teach the people of
Lamoni.
Alma 22:5 - Now the king said unto them: What is this that ye have said concerning
the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, this is the thing which doth trouble me.
Alma 32:28 - Now, we will compare the word unto a seed. Now, if ye give place, that
a seed may be planted in your heart, behold, if it be a true seed, or a good seed, if
ye do not cast it out by your unbelief, that ye will resist the Spirit of the Lord,
behold, it will begin to swell within your breasts; and when you feel these swelling
motions, ye will begin to say within yourselves—It must needs be that this is a good
seed, or that the word is good, for it beginneth to enlarge my soul; yea, it beginneth
to enlighten my understanding, yea, it beginneth to be delicious to me.
Alma 34:35 - For behold, if ye have procrastinated the day of your repentance even
until death, behold, ye have become subjected to the spirit of the devil, and he doth

seal you his; therefore, the Spirit of the Lord hath withdrawn from you, and hath no
place in you, and the devil hath all power over you; and this is the final state of the
wicked.
Alma 39:12 - And now the Spirit of the Lord doth say unto me: Command thy
children to do good, lest they lead away the hearts of many people to destruction;
therefore I command you, my son, in the fear of God, that ye refrain from your
iniquities;
Alma 4:15 - And now it came to pass that Alma, having seen the afflictions of the
humble followers of God, and the persecutions which were heaped upon them by
the remainder of his people, and seeing all their inequality, began to be very
sorrowful; nevertheless the Spirit of the Lord did not fail him.
Alma 40:13 - And then shall it come to pass, that the spirits of the wicked, yea, who
are evil—for behold, they have no part nor portion of the Spirit of the Lord; for
behold, they chose evil works rather than good; therefore the spirit of the devil did
enter into them, and take possession of their house—and these shall be cast out
into outer darkness; there shall be weeping, and wailing, and gnashing of teeth, and
this because of their own iniquity, being led captive by the will of the devil.
D&C 121:37 - That they may be conferred upon us, it is true; but when we
undertake to cover our sins, or to gratify our pride, our vain ambition, or to exercise
control or dominion or compulsion upon the souls of the children of men, in any
degree of unrighteousness, behold, the heavens withdraw themselves; the Spirit of
the Lord is grieved; and when it is withdrawn, Amen to the priesthood or the
authority of that man.
D&C 138:11 - As I pondered over these things which are written, the eyes of my
understanding were opened, and the Spirit of the Lord rested upon me, and I saw
the hosts of the dead, both small and great.
Ether 12:2 - And Ether was a prophet of the Lord; wherefore Ether came forth in the
days of Coriantumr, and began to prophesy unto the people, for he could not be
restrained because of the Spirit of the Lord which was in him.
Ether 15:19 - But behold, the Spirit of the Lord had ceased striving with them, and
Satan had full power over the hearts of the people; for they were given up unto the
hardness of their hearts, and the blindness of their minds that they might be
destroyed; wherefore they went again to battle.
Ezekiel 11:5 - And the Spirit of the Lord fell upon me, and said unto me, Speak; Thus
saith the Lord; Thus have ye said, O house of Israel: for I know the things that come
into your mind, every one of them.
Ezekiel 37:1 - The hand of the Lord was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of
the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones,
Helaman 16:2 - But as many as there were who did not believe in the words of
Samuel were angry with him; and they cast stones at him upon the wall, and also
many shot arrows at him as he stood upon the wall; but the Spirit of the Lord was

with him, insomuch that they could not hit him with their stones neither with their
arrows.
Helaman 4:24 - And they saw that they had become weak, like unto their brethren,
the Lamanites, and that the Spirit of the Lord did no more preserve them; yea, it
had withdrawn from them because the Spirit of the Lord doth not dwell in unholy
temples—
Helaman 6:35 - And thus we see that the Spirit of the Lord began to withdraw from
the Nephites, because of the wickedness and the hardness of their hearts.
Isaiah 11:2 - And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and
understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the
fear of the Lord;
Isaiah 40:13 - Who hath directed the Spirit of the Lord, or being his counsellor hath
taught him?
Isaiah 40:7 - The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the Lord
bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.
Isaiah 59:19 - So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory
from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of
the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.
Isaiah 61:1 - The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed
me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the
brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to
them that are bound;
Isaiah 63:14 - As a beast goeth down into the valley, the Spirit of the Lord caused
him to rest: so didst thou lead thy people, to make thyself a glorious name.
Judges 11:29 - Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jephthah, and he passed over
Gilead, and Manasseh, and passed over Mizpeh of Gilead, and from Mizpeh of Gilead
he passed over unto the children of Ammon.
Judges 13:25 - And the Spirit of the Lord began to move him at times in the camp of
Dan between Zorah and Eshtaol.
Judges 14:19 - And the Spirit of the Lord came upon him, and he went down to
Ashkelon, and slew thirty men of them, and took their spoil, and gave change of
garments unto them which expounded the riddle. And his anger was kindled, and he
went up to his father’s house.
Judges 14:6 - And the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him, and he rent him as
he would have rent a kid, and he had nothing in his hand: but he told not his father
or his mother what he had done.
Judges 15:14 - And when he came unto Lehi, the Philistines shouted against him:
and the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him, and the cords that were upon his

arms became as flax that was burnt with fire, and his bands loosed from off his
hands.
Judges 3:10 - And the Spirit of the Lord came upon him, and he judged Israel, and
went out to war: and the Lord delivered Chushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia
into his hand; and his hand prevailed against Chushan-rishathaim.
Judges 6:34 - But the Spirit of the Lord came upon Gideon, and he blew a trumpet;
and Abi-ezer was gathered after him.
Lama 19:14 - Now Ammon seeing the Spirit of the Lord poured out according to his
prayers upon the Lamanites, his brethren, who had been the cause of so much
mourning among the Nephites, or among all the people of God because of their
iniquities and their traditions, he fell upon his knees, and began to pour out his soul
in prayer and thanksgiving to God for what he had done for his brethren; and he
was also overpowered with joy; and thus they all three had sunk to the earth.
Luke 4:18 - The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to
preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to
preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at
liberty them that are bruised,
Micah 2:7 - O thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the Lord
straitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh
uprightly?
Micah 3:8 - But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the Lord, and of judgment,
and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.
Mormon 2:26 - And it came to pass that when they had fled we did pursue them
with our armies, and did meet them again, and did beat them; nevertheless the
strength of the Lord was not with us; yea, we were left to ourselves, that the Spirit
of the Lord did not abide in us; therefore we had become weak like unto our
brethren.
Mormon 5:16 - For behold, the Spirit of the Lord hath already ceased to strive with
their fathers; and they are without Christ and God in the world; and they are driven
about as chaff before the wind.
Moroni 9:4 - Behold, I am laboring with them continually; and when I speak the word
of God with sharpness they tremble and anger against me; and when I use no
sharpness they harden their hearts against it; wherefore, I fear lest the Spirit of the
Lord hath ceased striving with them.
Moses 6:64 - And it came to pass, when the Lord had spoken with Adam, our father,
that Adam cried unto the Lord, and he was caught away by the Spirit of the Lord,
and was carried down into the water, and was laid under the water, and was
brought forth out of the water.
Mosiah 13:5 - Now it came to pass after Abinadi had spoken these words that the
people of king Noah durst not lay their hands on him, for the Spirit of the Lord was

upon him; and his face shone with exceeding luster, even as Moses’ did while in the
mount of Sinai, while speaking with the Lord.
Mosiah 18:13 - And when he had said these words, the Spirit of the Lord was upon
him, and he said: Helam, I baptize thee, having authority from the Almighty God, as
a testimony that ye have entered into a covenant to serve him until you are dead as
to the mortal body; and may the Spirit of the Lord be poured out upon you; and may
he grant unto you eternal life, through the redemption of Christ, whom he has
prepared from the foundation of the world.
Mosiah 2:36 - And now, I say unto you, my brethren, that after ye have known and
have been taught all these things, if ye should transgress and go contrary to that
which has been spoken, that ye do withdraw yourselves from the Spirit of the Lord,
that it may have no place in you to guide you in wisdom’s paths that ye may be
blessed, prospered, and preserved—
Mosiah 21:34 - Therefore they did not at that time form themselves into a church,
waiting upon the Spirit of the Lord. Now they were desirous to become even as Alma
and his brethren, who had fled into the wilderness.
Mosiah 28:4 - And thus did the Spirit of the Lord work upon them, for they were the
very vilest of sinners. And the Lord saw fit in his infinite mercy to spare them;
nevertheless they suffered much anguish of soul because of their iniquities,
suffering much and fearing that they should be cast off forever.
Mosiah 4:3 - And it came to pass that after they had spoken these words the Spirit
of the Lord came upon them, and they were filled with joy, having received a
remission of their sins, and having peace of conscience, because of the exceeding
faith which they had in Jesus Christ who should come, according to the words which
king Benjamin had spoken unto them.
Mosiah 5:2 - And they all cried with one voice, saying: Yea, we believe all the words
which thou hast spoken unto us; and also, we know of their surety and truth,
because of the Spirit of the Lord Omnipotent, which has wrought a mighty change in
us, or in our hearts, that we have no more disposition to do evil, but to do good
continually.
Words of Mormon 1:7 - And I do this for a wise purpose; for thus it whispereth me,
according to the workings of the Spirit of the Lord which is in me. And now, I do not
know all things; but the Lord knoweth all things which are to come; wherefore, he
worketh in me to do according to his will.
