Brochure
Description - A travel brochure targeted towards clients who dont want to plan their own trip, who are
looking for a knowledgable and friendly agency to
help them out.
Date - 03/25/15
Instructor/Course - Cory Kerr/ Com 130
Program(s)/Tools - Adobe Photoshop, Indesign and
Illustrator
Objectives

Set up and align a two-sided, folded document.
Create an original, new logo and use it in a brochure.
To use quality images (at least 4) that work effectivly with our idea.
To use design principles well.

Process -

I thought out an idea and made some sketches. I created a brand
new logo in Adobe Illustrator. I then found images to use and fixed
them a little in photoshop. I then brought everything into Indesign
and created a layout. Using ruler guides and design elements I created
an interesting layout appealing to those interested in traveling within
Ireland.

Business Card / Stationary
Description - A business card created for a travel
agency. It is to resemble a suitcase to insinuate travel.
The stationary/letterhead mocks the design.
Date - 02/28/15
Instructor/ Course - Cory Kerr/ Comm 130
Program(s) / Tools - Adobe Illustrator, Indesign
Objective - To create an original logo and implement
that into a design for a business card, then to again
recreate that in designing a letterhead.
Process- First I created my suitcase in illustrator
using shapes. A square for the big box, then smaller
boxes for the handle that doubles as the “T” . I then
also created the airplane using shape tools, the
eclipse and box tools. I used the smaller boxes on the
bottom of the “T” to resemble a runway.

Montage
Description - A montage created using two different images to
make an inspiring and uplifiting photo.
Date - 02/14/15
Instructor/ Course - Cory Kerr/ Com 130
Program(s)/ Tools - Adobe Photoshop
Objective- To learn blending methods and to imporove my
photoshop skills. To learn to find good effective images that are
also good quality. To use design principles together to create a
good product.
Process - I found images that fit with the idea I had attempted to
sketch out. I brought them into photoshop and first edited them to
my needs. I created copies and layers and transformed from color
to B&W. I then used my brush tool to selectivly erase the layer
of B&W to bring forth some color. I then imported the second
image and used my brush to blend them together. I then used a
typography overlay to create an uplifting message.

Logos
Description - Three unique and creativly designed logos. They are for
a candy store that is run by a man who has been nicknamed “maple
man”. Its fun and different.
Date - 02/21/15
Instructor/Course - Cor Kerr/ Com 130
Program(s)/ Tools - Adobe Illustrator/ Indesign
Objective - To create three new logos that represent a real or make
believe company. To use the design principles we have learned
throughout the course and to put them all together to create an
interesting and captivating design. To use the pen and shape tools in
illustrator to create ideas we had sketched out.
Process - I sketched out exactly what I was thinking. I then googled
and youtubed ideas for creating a maple leaf within illustrator. I used
the triangle tools to create the leafs. I then used that as a major part
of all three designs. For the lollipop design I used the eclipse tool and
created the circle, I then made the maple leaf the “stamp” and used
the spiral tool to create the circular “lollipop” shape.

Flier
Description - A creative flier made to advertise a graduate leadership
training conference. The target audience is for college students
preparing to head out into the busines world.
Date - 01/24/15
Instructor/ Course - Cory Kerr/ Com130
Program(s) / Tools - Adobe Indesign
Objectives - To learn the tools in Indesign. To learn how to create
shapes, boxes, thicken strokes and the overal functions. To create an
interesting flier that will catch attention from across a room. Must be
B&W. Must have plenty of white space.
Process - I first sketched this design out, then I set to work using
Indesign for the very first time. I placed the the logo and image, I then
created the circles using the eclipse tools. I then created ruler guiedes
so everything could stay in alignment. I then created strokes fit to
underline important areas. I then desicded what was most important
and structured the size of the typography accordingly.

Program(s) / Tools - Adobe Photoshop/ Indesign
Objectives - To create an interesting flier in sync with design principles
that is attractive and draws attention. To use good typography skills
and to prove skills in both photoshop and Indesign. To use images
scanned in from non electronic sources (ie. books, magazines etc).
Process - I first thought up my idea and sketched it out. I then went
and found the images I thought I might need or use in books in the
library and scanned them to my computer. I then take the photos into
photoshop and do a bit of touching up. I then imported everything into
Indesign and created an interesting layout. I used the box tool as well
as the image editing tool that provides some preset functions to the
images. Using this I created a layout with the images scattered.
