HP UX Logs Analyzer
• Ignore first line because it shows
• r= runnable process (huge values is not a healthy sign)
• b= blocked process (huge values is not a healthy sign)
• swpd = Swap (
• free = Free Memory (Huge amount of free memory)
• si = swap in
• so = swap out
• (if zero, system is very healthy)
• bi
• bo
• in
• Very important parameters to see (Related to CPU)
• us = Percentage of time CPU is busy executing user processes
• sy = Percentage of time CPU is busy executing system calls
• id = Percentage of time CPU is idle
• (If it is 70%, then add more CPU)
• wa = time spent waiting for IO
• unixhelp.ed.ac.uk/CGI/man-cgi?vmstat
