THE 43rd INTERNATIONAL OCTOBER CONFERENCE ON MINING AND METALLURGY The 43rd International October Conference on Mining and Metallurgy, organized annually, aims at providing a forum for presentation and discussion of scientific research, technological development and practice on the subjects of geology, mining, metallurgy, materials science, technology, environmental protection and the related engineering topics. The Conference is organized jointly by the Technical Faculty in Bor, the University of Belgrade and the Mining and Metallurgy Institute Bor. Initially, a national conference, it then became a conference with international participation and since 2002, it has been organized as an international conference. TIME AND VENUE The 43rd IOC will be held from 12-15 October, 2011 at Hotel “Aquastar Danube”, Kladovo (Serbia), a tourist site and a healing resort on the Danube river near the National Park Djerdap, eastern Serbia (about 260 km south-east of Belgrade). TOPICS The Conference topics will cover the following fields: geology, underground mining, surface mining, mineral processing, extractive metallurgy, metal processing, materials science, inorganic technology, environmental engineering, industrial engineering, recycling technologies, energetics, manufacturing technologies, quality management, software engineering applications, mechatronics, machining, design and construction, and other related fields. CONFERENCE PROGRAM The Conference work will be organized in sessions, including plenary lecture, session lectures, oral and poster presentations. PUBLISHING The Conference Proceedings will only include the papers accepted by the Scientific Committee. The papers should be written in English and in accordance with the instructions available on the Conference website (www.ioc.tf.bor.ac.rs). The authors can prepare their papers in an extended form and submit them as full-length research papers in Journal of Mining and Metallurgy, Section A:Mining and Section B: Metallurgy (the instructions for preparation of papers are given on JMM site at

www.jmmab.com, as well as in the national journals Rudarski radovi and Bakar, after reviewing and the appropriate revisions. CONFERENCE LANGUAGE The Conference language will be English. CONFERENCE FEE The Conference fee is € 120 - Net Amount (plus additional fee for poster presentations*). For domestic participants the Conference fee is – 12000 RSD. It includes admission to the Conference sessions, Conference Proceedings and materials, welcome cocktail, Conference dinner, and refreshments during the Conference. The conference fee for the accompanying person is € 50. It includes all the items specified for the participants except the Conference Proceedings and materials. * Additional fee of € 20 is required if authors want to make poster presentations, since the Organizers take upon themselves to print all posters. The authors are kindly asked to inform the organizers about the type of presentation in the preliminary registration – until 15 May 2011. Deadline for Conference fee payment: 15 September 2011 After the mentioned deadline, the Conference fee will be: € 140 - Net Amount (plus additional € 20 for poster presentations). The authors who will not attend the Conference can have their accepted papers published providing they pay a publishing fee of € 40 until 15 September 2011. Payment instructions:

EXHIBITION An exhibition will be held during the Conference, which will be a good opportunity for the companies operating in the fields related to the Conference topics, to introduce their products and services to the wider public. It will be open throughout the Conference. Details will be sent to the companies interested in participation. Exhibition fee of € 200 per delegate includes an exhibition booth, Conference Proceedings, welcome cocktail, Conference dinner and refreshments during the conference. Additional fee for other delegates is € 100 per person. DONATING The individuals, corporations and foundations may support the 43rd IOC by making appropriate financial donations. In return, their work and activities will be promoted free of charge on the Conference website and in the Proceedings Book. HOTEL ACCOMMODATION Accommodation for the participants will be provided at Hotel ''Aquastar Danube'', Kladovo. THE FINAL ANNOUNCEMENT AND PROGRAM The final announcement and the Conference program will be sent after 12th September 2011. INVITATION LETTER The 43rd IOC will issue letters of invitation to the participants who need such a document to raise travel funds or obtain a visa. However, such letters do not oblige the 43rd IOC to provide any financial support. Requests for letters of invitation should be sent to the Organizing Committee.

INSURANCE The organizers cannot be held responsible for any accidents involving Conference participants or the accompanying persons, for damage or loss of their personal property or for cancellation expenses, regardless of cause. Participants should, therefore, make their own insurance arrangements and are advised to consult their local insurance agents regarding coverage.
