Learner Demographics

Instructional Problems 1. How can students demonstrate problem solving based learning using complex exploration and collaboration? 2. How can students present evidence to demonstrate conflict as presented in their core content texts? 3. How can students administer real life experiences as they apply to core content areas? Technology Solutions Cooperative Learning = Students should work collaboratively to break down problems and analyze solutions in multiple interrelated parts. Programs: Microsoft Power point, Prezi, Movie Maker Symbaloo, Delicious, ArtRage

Collaborative Groupwork/Problem Solving = Students can provide evidence to present conflict through incorporating graphics, video and animations. Programs: Thinkertools, Microworlds, Zoho, Glogster, Ahead, Jing, Dipity, Animoto, Masher Real Life Experiences/Applications= Internet, social websites and videoconferencing technology tools allow students to apply real life experiences to core content areas and others. Programs: MySpace, Facebook, Oovlo, Facetime, Skype, voice thread, Twitter, Tweetdeck Common Core Content Areas My 3 instructional problems relate to all of the common core content area standards. These problems can be applied to every core content area. The 3 instructional problems can also serve as a collaborative effort among collaboration of two or more of the content areas such as reading, science, technology, math and even Visual arts and music.

Core Content Standards/ AASL 21st Century Standards = 1. How can students demonstrate problem solving based learning using complex exploration and collaboration?

Core Content Standard: CC. S.12 Follow precisely a complex multistep procedure when carrying

out experiments, taking measurements, or performing technical tasks; analyze the specific results based on explanations in the text

AASL 21st Century Standards

1.15 = Evaluate information found in selected sources on the basis of accuracy, validity, appropriateness for needs, importance, social and context. 1-19 = Collaborate with others to broaden and deepen understanding 1-42 = Use interaction with feedback from peers to guide individual inquiry process.

2. How can students present evidence to demonstrate conflict as presented in their core content texts?

Core Content Standard: CC6-8RH/SS7 Integrate visual information (e.g., in charts, graphs, photographs, videos, or maps) with other information in print and digital texts.
AASL 21st Century Standards 1-16 = Read, view, and present evidence in any format (textual, visual media, or digital in order to make inferences and gather meaning. 2.14 = Use technology and other information tools to analyze and organize information. 3.32 = Respect the differing interests and experiences of others, and seek a variety of view points. 2.24 = Demonstrate personal productivity by completing products to express learning. 3. How can students administer real life experiences as they apply to core content areas? 2.31 = Connect understanding to the real world. 3.34 = Create products that apply to authentic real world contexts. 4.17 = Use social networks and infornmation tools to gather and share information. Student Centered Strategies/Activities =

Communication = Discussion forums, exchaning and sharing files, Internet e-mail, Blogging, Facetime, Skype Chat sessions, Smartboard activities Student Involvement = Cooperative Learning Environments, Social book marking, group work, student peer/self assessment, production software and web applications, online discussions Problem Based Learning = Presenting hypothesis, gathering data, progress review, collaborative team building
