SECTION 4 – First Aid Measures

Inhalation Remove affected person from the area of exposure and move to fresh air immediately. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Seek medical attention. Skin contact Immediately flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Get medical aid if irritation develops or persists. Wash clothing properly before reuse. Eye contact Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Check for and remove any contact lenses. Get medical attention if irritation occurs. Ingestion DO NOT induce vomiting. If the victim is conscious and alert, give 2 – 4 cupfuls of water. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Seek immediate medical attention.
SECTION 5 – Fire-Fighting Measures

Suitable extinguishing media Extinguishing powder; Carbon dioxide; Alcohol- resistant foam Hazardous thermal decomposition and combustion products o o Melamine sublimates at temperatures above 350 C. At temperatures above 500 C ammonia is released. Special protective equipment for fire-fighter Fire-fighters should wear appropriate protective equipment and self-contained breathing apparatus with a full face-piece operated in positive pressure mode.
SECTION 6 – Accidental Release Measures

Personal precautions Remove persons to safety. Avoid creating dusty conditions and prevent wind dispersal. Use suitable protective clothing.

Methods for cleaning up/taking up Pick up mechanically and dispose of in designated, labeled waste container.

SECTION 7 – Handling and Storage Handling No special measures necessary if stored and handled as prescribed. Avoid the formation and deposition of dust. Provide good ventilation of working area (local exhaust ventilations if necessary). Take precautionary measures against static charges. Keep away from sources of heat and ignition.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion This material in sufficient quantity and reduced particle size is capable of creating a dust explosion. There is a slight risk of explosion if heated under confinement. Keep away from sources of heat and ignition. Storage Do not store together with: Acids or oxidizing agents. Keep in dry in a cool, well-ventilated place. DO NOT STACK MORE THAN 2 SUPERSACS HIGH
SECTION 8 – Exposure Control / Personal Protection Exposure limit values: NONE Personal protective equipment Respiratory protection Not necessary if area is well – ventilated. Use dust mask or other breathing apparatus if warranted. Hand protection In the case of intensive contact wear protective gloves made from PVC or PE. Eye protection Safety glasses Skin protection Light protective clothing General protective and hygiene measures Do not inhale dust. Clean skin thoroughly with soap and water after contact.
