1:00 pm – 3:30 pm and 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Dear Parent/s:

This year in the Middle School, we are continuing with the “arena style” conferences model. This may be a new experience for those of you who are Grade five parents and those of you who are new parents. The conferences are an opportunity for parents and teachers to talk about your child’s progress. Students do not need to attend. Important Information and Facts about our format for Parent Conferences: For your convenience, the Middle School teachers will be seated at desks in the Little Theater and Middle School Gymnasium starting at 1:00 pm. At 3:30 pm, teachers will have an afternoon break for refreshments. (On both conference days, refreshments will be provided for you, for the duration of the afternoon.) Conferences will then continue from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm. Please note that all conferencing is unscheduled. Each teacher will be available to discuss your child’s progress with you for around ten minutes. Thank you for limiting your conversation to ten minutes. In the event that you need to talk with a teacher in more detail, please schedule an alternative time after the October break. If a teacher you wish to see is conferencing with another parent when you arrive, you may wish to: a. wait in the seating area near that teacher until the teacher becomes available b. leave that teacher and go to another teacher who is free and return later You may come to the Parent Teacher Conferences at any time between 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm. Arriving after 5:45 pm may severely limit the number of teachers with whom you will be able to conference. If you have two or more children in the Middle School, please allow enough time to meet the teachers of each child. We are going green this year for the Parent Teacher Conferences. Prior to attending, please log on to PowerSchool to view your child’s progress and print a hard copy for your reference. When you meet with teachers, they will explain the details of your child’s progress. In the event that you haven’t logged on to PowerSchool, please call Ms. Grace Gabay in MS Guidance at 840-8555 in order to obtain your password.
