The Genre we chose to do for our opening sequence was Horror.
After brainstorming for the title of our film, we decided on ‘The Devils Helper’.
We chose this title as the doll is possessed by the devil, which is why it could be considered the ‘devils helper’ as it takes over Abbey.
Age: 15-35 years of age Gender: Male and Female BBFC: 15 We will target this audience through social media sights such as Facebook
Samantha – played by Manmeet Singh Abbey – played by Aayushi Oza We chose these people as they are both confidence and have experience doing drama.
In our opening sequence, a young girl, called Abbey, will be accompanying her older sister, Samantha, to a workshop. While searching for the function, Abbey comes across a doll. The doll begins to take over Abbey and Samantha loses Abbey while she continues walking around the school. Samantha will begin to hear strange noises as she begins to search for her sister. Samantha sees the doll at the end of the corridor and slowly walks towards it when her sister suddenly slowly walks around the corner and picks it up. Samantha calls her sisters name before running away and fleeing down the stairs. She tugs at the doors but they’re locked. She slowly turns around and sees the doll. Suddenly, Abbey jumps out her.
These films gave us the concept of the possessed doll taking over the body of someone else. All of these films are horrors/thrillers, which fits out genre. It is mostly passed on the film the conjuring, which contains scenes of horror and supernatural, which is similar to what our is about. In this film and our film, the problems all start when the doll arrives on the scene.
We plan to use non diagetic music through out our film in order to build tension and create an enigma We also plan to use diagetic music in our film in order to create a creepy atmosphere. For example, we will be using a Childs laughter when Samantha is walking along the corridor. We also use diagetic dialogue to carry a conversation between the two characters at the beginning
