Recommendations
PATIENT RELATED FACTORS
The researchers would like to recommend an intensified awareness program
to the population to enhance knowledge of the TB patients, defaulters or not.
Enhanced knowledge would likely result to an attitude and behavior that favors
compliance to treatment.
HEALTH SYSTEM RELATED FACTORS
The researchers would like to recommend strict implementation of the new
mandate that a health center staff will be the one delivering the medications to the
patient’s house in cases they will not be able to visit the clinic. Also, if it would be
possible, clinic hours can be adjusted o it can cater the patients that find difficulty
complying with their schedule because of their work, school or personal agendas.
SUPPORT GROUP RELATED FACTORS
Researchers would like to recommend that representatives from the patient’s
support group will also have their counseling which would tackle their role as a
treatment partner of our patient. Also, we would like to recommend that support
groups will also have a constant open communication with the health center, so
they can relay information the easiest way possible with regards to the treatment,
and that help can be discussed and delivered through the health center if the
support group cannot provide it for the patient.
STIGMA RELATED FACTORS
Stigma brought about by Tuberculosis can be minimized or eradicated if all
people will realize that Tuberculosis can be treated, however we cannot deny the
fact that it can be transmitted. However, health teachings can be done to
emphasize the mode of transmission the dis ease and the course of the disease
once treatment has been started. Hopefully, people will be able to take the right
measures to prevent contracting the disease rather than making our patients
stigmatized.
