All day trip to see Trail of 100 Giants (Sequoia trees) and the River Kern
Self guided walk through Sequoia Grove sack lunches provided by host family Drive to Kernville/Lake Isabella and visit Fishery Time for walking by the river; souvenir shopping in Kernville
Thursday, August 11
CALM, Oil Museum and Pioneer Village
CALM (California Living Museum) to see rescued wildlife native to California - mountain lion, bobcat, skunk, coyote, badger, bear, etc. View Oilfields from Panorama Bluff Mexican lunch Oil museum and Pioneer village
Friday, August 12
All day bus trip to Pacific Ocean (Can't do all of the below!) Quick photo stop at memorial to James Dean
Kayaking in Morro Bay lunch in Morro Bay -- Subway (Los Osos) sandwiches Observe sea otters and sea lions at Morro Bay Beach afternoon at Pismo Beach dinner-- probably fast food on way home
Saturday, August 13
Rankin Ranch -- WESTERN HOSPITALITY
Rankin Ranch BBQ and horseshoes game horseback riding available for extra charge ($35/person) must be reserved in advance Neighborhood Potlucks
Sunday, August 14
Free day with host family until time for FAREWELL DINNER optional - Buena Vista Museum (fossils, Native American Display) optional - shopping, Valley Plaza, meet at food court, noon
Dinner Farewell Celebration - John's Incredible Pizza in Bakersfield where adults can chat in special reserved "library" room, and kids can play video games and ride the bumper cars
