THE 2ND PHILIPPINES ASSOCIATION OF LAW SCHOOLS ESSAY WRITING CONTEST OBJECTIVE AND THEME
Globalization is reshaping the contours of the legal landscape. Law practice transcends international borders. Persons who committed committed crimes against humanity humanity may no longer be charged and tried by a domestic tribunal alone. A number of countries have committed themselves to regional economic integration. In so doing, they have created a common market for, among others, the free flow of services. Is the Filipino law student prepared for these emerging trends? How can a Filipino law student prepare himself for the competitive challenges brought about by globalization? How can a law student prepare himself to be a member of a transnational community? community? How can his law school help him to be a member of the international legal community? It is the objective of the 2 nd Philippine Association of Law Schools (PALS) ESSAY writing contest is to give law student the opportunity to discuss how he and his law school can respond to the challenges of gloablization. ELIGIBILITY
The Essay Writing Contest is open to all law students of good standing and is currently enrolled in a Philippine law school. GUIDELINES
Only three (3) students from a law school may participate
Essays must reflect the assigned theme
Essays must be an original written work.
Essays must be typed and be between 500 and 750 words in length.
The Philippine Association of Law Schools shall have the exclusive right to publish all entries.
JUDGING
Essays must be submitted on or before August 31, 2014.
Essays must be in PDF file version
www.pals.org.ph not later than the above stated date. Essay must be sent to to www.pals.org.ph
Entries will be judged by a panel of Law School Deans

P15,000.00 for the Law Student All expenses paid trip to Hongkong in November 2014 P15,000.00 for the Law School
