Top 10: Players Arsenal Could Sign This Summer By Nathan Russell (@nathanhrussell) Serge Aurier Bacary Sagna’s departure from Arsenal looks looks certain and if one thing is for sure,

Arsenal will need to press on with finding a replacement for the Frenchman. Serge Aurier looks a great fit at a great price. The Ivorian could be bought from Toulouse for as little as £7m; even though he is just 21 years old, he has held his own in Ligue 1 this season after having made 34 appearances in the French top flight. Cesc Fàbregas Arsenal’s former captain has been linked with Manchester United of late, but

those links have died down and rumours of a potential return to his old club are rife. Much was made of a buyback clause that Arsène Wenger managed to get in the Spaniard’s contract when he left for Barcelona in 2011, which could be used

this summer. summer. Fàbregas wouldn’t need to adapt to the Premier League, but Arsenal have more pressing concerns and the signing of their old captain may be of the detriment to the likes of Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey.  Angel Di María Angel Di María was arguably the best player in the Champions League Final, which saw his club finally land La Décima. Since then, the Argentine has stated that he is aware that his club might want to sell him this summer. Di María iiss only 26 and would add pace, which has certainly been lacking this season for the Gunners. Whether the Real Madrid Madrid player is really after a move or is just looking for a better deal remains to be seen but he would definitely add attacking impetus to this current Arsenal side. Lars Bender Ask any Arsenal fan what type of player they need to sign this summer and they’ll tell you of the need for a striker and a holding midfielder. Mikel Arteta hasn’t done a bad job in the holding role but many feel that a player such as Lars

Bender would help support a backline that has leaked goals in big games. The 25-year-old has recently stated that he could well remain at Bayer Leverkusen but a move to Arsenal may be too good to turn down if the Gunners were to come knocking. Karim Benzema

Every man and his dog know that a striker has to be a priority in the transfer market this summer and Karim Benzema would certainly be a world-class addition. The Frenchman has hit 24 goals in 52 appearances in all competitions this season and would undoubtedly thrive off the type of service that the likes of former teammate Mesut Özil could provide. Benzema is entering the final year of his contract and Real Madrid may be tempted to sell this summer so that he doesn’t go for free next year. Carlos Vela Fàbregas hasn’t been the only former Arsenal player to be linked with a return to

North London this summer. Carlos Vela was recently quoted as saying that ‘Arsenal can come back for me at £3.3m at any time’, thanks to a buyback clause that was inserted in the Mexican’s contract when he left for Real Sociedad in

2012. Vela can play on the left wing as well as in a central striking role; he contributed 16 goals and 12 assists in 37 La Liga appearances this season and looks an absolute bargain.  Álvaro Morata Álvaro Morata is one of many Real Madrid players to be linked with a move to the Emirates this summer. A €10m transfer fee is dependent on Real Madrid’s wish to have a €25 buyback clause inserted in the Spaniard’s contract. Morata

has had to compete with the likes of Benzema this season but still sti ll managed to score eight times in 23 La Liga appearances. It’s clear that Wenger is interested in the 21-year-old but his future may depend on that of Karim Benzema, who Arsenal are also reportedly interested in signing. sign ing.  Antoine Griezmann Arsenal lack a natural left-winger, a position where Santi Cazorla and Lukas Podolski havehis been in asSociedad of late. Antoine Griezmann made that position ownfilling for Real this season, findinghas thecertainly net 16 times in 35 La Liga appearances. It seems unlikely that Real Sociedad would allow Arsenal to sign both Griezmann and Vela this summer so it may be an either-or situation. Jackson Martínez The 27-year-old Colombian is one of many strikers to be linked with a move to Arsenal this summer. This comes as no surprise after he scored 29 times in 51 appearances in all competitions for Porto this season. If he were to have a good World Cup, then his price tag may increase even more, so this is one transfer that the Gunners would want to complete sooner rather than later.

Loic Remy QPR manager Harry Redknapp recently admitted defeat with regards to keeping former Newcastle loanee at the club by saying that ‘I think he’s looking to play Champions League next year’. These comments would have put Arsenal on high

alert and Remy looks looks cheap at just £8m. The Frenchman may be looked looked at later on in the summer if Arsenal fail to land some of their more pressing targets.
